Maria Theresa "Cherith" Dimson Dayrit-Garcia, was convent-educated, student council president, a cum laude double-major graduate. She was a wife and mother, a good daughter who chose a path different from that of the rest of her family.
She died in a hail of bullets on July 16, 2000 during a military attack in a village in Isabela. Cherith died among her comrades in the communist-led New People's Army (NPA), of which she was a ranking officer.
